Importance of electronic risk management systems for modern day businesses On 12th May2010
Electronic risk management is today just as an important part of business management than is budget control. Access control to specific areas within a building reduces the risk of fraud, theft by employees, and industrial espionage. At the same time access control to corporate premises helps to reduce the risk of armed robberies, large scale theft, and instances of fraud by outside parties. Financial losses are minimized through improved electronic risk management. Biometrics has come to play an important part in effective access control as have door control. In addition, IP based camera surveillance has become equally important. The main focus of electronic risk management should be the integration of various security and safety systems to reduce costs and improve control. This also means that time & attendance systems, payroll systems, parking management, door control, fire detection, alarms, and general access control should be integrated. IDtek provides various advanced electronic risk management solutions which allow for full integration of all of the above systems.

Why is security risk control required? On 9th May2010
Security risk control should be one of the main considerations when it comes to building management because information, employees, clients, vehicles , finances, the buildings, and assets should be protected. Security risk control measures should be in place to address access to the premise and specific areas within the premise by authorized persons only, reduction of fire risks, fraud, industrial espionage, and robberies, in addition to lowering high maintenance costs. As such it is imperative that a company make use of a complete security risk control system rather than stand alone units which cannot be monitored from a central place or from a remote location. Such a security control system should for instance, integrate parking management, surveillance, biometric access control, door control, smoke detectors, fire alarms, and user-friendly building management systems. IDtek is able to provide integrated security risk control systems for medium to large companies.

Critical components of high quality security systems On 29th April2009
When selecting security systems to be installed at warehouses, factories, public areas, campuses, and office parks consider the following critical components which make the difference between vulnerable and high quality security systems:
• Is the system compatible with major platforms in the industry?
• Will the system be cost effective?
• Will the installation be affordable?
• Does it offer 24/7 monitoring abilities?
• Does it have built-in redundancy features?
• Is there a critical power solution and backup UPS?
• How scalable is the solution?
• Can it be integrated with the fire protection, surveillance, building management, critical power, and access control systems of the building?
We take all the above into consideration when we recommend and install security systems ensuring that you save on installation costs and maintenance whilst improving the overall security of your building considerably.

Parking management at shopping centres to improve security On 6th March2009
Although parking management at shopping centres is mainly focused on improving convenience of the shoppers and the shopping management, it also has the benefit of improving security. One way that parking management at shopping centres does benefit security is through access control to the area through booms and pressing the button for a time ticket. When cameras are installed at the various entries and exit points which relay to a central point of monitoring, it will be possible to identify any suspicious behaviour. It will also help to identify when a car came into the facility and left as well as noting the driver in case of theft at the facility. Since a client has to pay the ticket with the pay on foot system before leaving the premise, it will prolong the period from when a crime occurred until being able to get to the vehicle and exit. The booms can be controlled to not open in such instances if for instance, a bank robbery occurred at the shopping facility. As such we can consider parking management at shopping centres to improve security of the facility.

Pay on Foot systems for easier parking management On 5th February2009
One of the most frustrating aspects for customers of parking garages, office blocks, and shopping malls are the lack of automated pay on foot systems. The frustration of having to go to a specific booth to pay for parking or only paying when at the exit makes the trip tedious for the customer. IDTEK provides automated pay on foot systems that can read the customer’s ticket, provide an accurate cost quote, receive coins and notes, as well as provide change. With the pay on foot systems being connected to the gate terminals the client can simply enter the ticket at the exit without having to wait in line. The boom will lift if the ticket has been paid. Should there be a problem at the pay on foot systems a help button can be pressed which will bring the customer in contact with a security assistant. Combine this with surveillance and the problem can be solved remotely.

Pay on Foot systems for shopping malls On 28th November2008
Pay on Foot systems as available from IDTek ensure lower shopping mall and parking area management costs. Fewer employees are needed to man pay systems and more security is obtained. Rather than having money at pay booths which can be robbed or where theft can take place, shopping malls now invest in Pay on Foot systems. The Pay on Foot systems entail terminals where the tickets are issued as well as exit terminals with ticket readers. There are also barriers at the exit areas to prevent unauthorized exiting. Finally a Pay on Foot pay station is also present where the user will pay for the time parked. The Pay on Foot pay stations can take payments in various forms including cards, notes or coins. In many instances a video link will be present for additional monitoring. The Pay on Foot systems have user-friendly interfaces to ensure that the customers know what to do. Airports, hospitals, shopping malls, and office parks benefit from the usage of Pay on Foot systems.
